WICKFORD TOWN UNDER 12'S C TEAM

We are the main sponsors of this young team who are currently playing in the Southend & Junior district D division.

The boys worked very hard last season and finished 6th out of a total of 12 teams.  Well done.

We have the presentation ceremony during July when Asbestco's director, Paul Bartram will be handing out awards.

A word of warning, the lads are going for the league this year. The competition had better be on their guard!

SIMCO FC

Not forgetting the older members of the football playing community, we are also the main sponsor for Simco FC who play in the Southend veterans' league.

Simco, who are based on Canvey Island, won the league 2 years ago, but haven't managed to get the cup back since. Glucosamine is supposed to ease those aching, rusty joints lads!

LEGISLATION NEWS

CONTROL OF ASBESTOS REGULATIONS 2006

On Monday 13th November 2006, the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2006 came into force. These new regulations should have been implemented in the UK in April 2006.

The UK's delay in implementation was necessary, as some changes were controversial.

One such controversy was the Health & Safety Executive proposed the removal of textured coatings from the Asbestos Licensing Regulations. A number of organisations opposed this move. The HSE undertook further research & deduced that these materials would not cause major problems and therefore did not need to be included in the strict licensing rules.

Textured coatings are now excluded from the asbestos licensing requirements; however, control measures in the asbestos regulations will still apply.

You can go to the Health & Safety Executive website for more info & legislation in full http://www.hse.gov.uk/
